Giant Killer
GIANT KILLER is the callsign for the US Navy Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility (FACSFAC) located at the Virginia Capes� that controls military operating & training areas off the US east coast. The northernmost areas (warning areas W105, W106 & W107) are located just south of Rhode Island and Long Island and can be monitored from much of New England. All US military branches utilize these areas, and there is activity on a near daily basis. Among the regular users are the Mass. Air National Guard F-15 fighters from the 104th Fighter Wing.
Communications is maintained with GIANT KILLER through remote sites along the coast. The primary published frequencies are listed below; discrete frequencies are sometimes assigned to specific missions. Please report additional confirmed frequencies in the Scan New England MILCOM forum.
