Massachusetts Military Reservation
The Mass Military Reservation (MMR) is located in Sandwich, Mashpee and Falmouth on Cape Cod. It houses Otis Air National Guard Base, Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, and Camp Edwards training facility. Operations have been slowed recently due to pollution clean up efforts on the base (See Cape Cod LTR Systems Page for Talkgroups, many of the clean up companies use this system). Formerly the base was home to the 102nd Fighter Wing, which was moved to Barnes ANGB to join the 104th Fighter Wing.

PAVE PAWS Radar Station
The PAVE PAWS Over the Horizon RADAR Site is maintained by the U.S. Air Force. It is located off of Exit 1 in the town of Bourne, on the Massachusetts Military Reservation. Recently, PAVE PAWS has updated their radio system to APCO-25 digital. The following frequencies are currently in use.
Frequency | Remarks |
140.0375R | Operations |
141.8875R | Training Exercises |
142.0750R | Maintenance |
Radio Shack scanners manufactured by GRE will round some of these frequencies. As an example, 140.0375 will show as 140.0400. This will not have an adverse effect on listening. Of course, an APCO-25 capable scanner is required. There is a possibility that some or all of these frequencies could become encrypted as well. Only time will tell.
