In Barnstable County, EMS is handled by the local fire departments. See the Barnstable County Fire Departments wiki page for FD talkgroups and frequencies. The standard CMED frequencies are used for ambulance to hospital communications. The system is for the most part SIMPLEX. EMS patches are controlled via the Barnstable County Sheriff's Department Dispatch Center. Dispachers can switch between various towers on Cape Cod depending on the area in which the communicating ambulance is transiting.
Use a 173.8 PL for the CMED BASE frequencies only, and leave the mobile (468 MHz) frequencies as CSQ (carrier squelch). Here is a list of standard CMED frequencies:
Channel | Hospital Freq | Ambulance Freq |
CMED-1 | 463.000 | 468.000 |
CMED-2 | 463.025 | 468.025 |
CMED-3 | 463.050 | 468.050 |
CMED-4 | 463.075 | 468.075 |
