Countywide Information

  • In Barnstable County, EMS is handled by the local fire departments
  • See the Barnstable County Fire Departments wiki page for FD talkgroups and frequencies
  • The standard CMED frequencies are used for ambulance to hospital communications
  • The system is for the most part SIMPLEX. EMS patches are controlled via the Barnstable County Sheriff's Department Dispatch Center.
  • Dispatchers can switch between various towers on Cape Cod depending on the area in which the communicating ambulance is transiting.

C-MED Frequencies

  • Use a 173.8 PL for the CMED BASE frequencies only, and leave the mobile (468 MHz) frequencies as CSQ (carrier squelch).
