UPS question

Absolutely! APC or TrippLite are two popular and generally well reviewed models. How many you will require depends on the specs of the one(s) you decide to purchase. Most basic consumer level devices have two or three battery backup and surge plugs, and the remaining plugs are surge protection only.

One thing to consider with these, and you likely know this, but they're not intended to provide long term battery backup, but instead to protect your equipment and give you time to do a normal shutdown in the event of a long-term power failure. The amount of battery time for each is also contingent on its specs.

IF you want to look, feel, compare and check out the weight - best place to visit would be MicroCenter in Cambridge
I've bought my recent (computer) one from them and they even did a price match check for me...

I ran into issues with short power blinks constantly shutting down my computers. That often resulted in loss or corruption of data with SDR software. I got a APC UPS and only care about getting past the short blinks of power. I have it overloaded with 5 computers so it lasts less than 3 minutes but gets through the short interruptions. Nothing I do is "mission critical" but it was frustrating. As soon as it alerts for battery life, I replace the small battery.
I also have several inexpensive power strip UPS'es for my router and cable modem/phone box. Much cheaper than the Cox offered internal battery.
