Camp Edwards/Joint Base Cape Cod 380 MHz P25 Trunked System

This just happened at 1130 today.

Quite a few more frequencies added to the system and a change in the CC frequency.

Right now I'm using a Comet GP15N mounted atop the tower. Non-resonant but it seems to work the best of all of them from here.

I am closer than you are. So, I am using my DPD 450 mhz vertical. I getting all 5 bars using a 536 HP.

The cape site, as shown, is now showing the Devens site as a neighbor, which it was not doing before.

Not happy .. not even a scratch from home location. Tried different radios, different antennas.
Stinks being down in my little dip in the road. Will need to go mobile.

Jeff, The range of that DOD system is not very far. I am in the Fall River area and can on a good day receive the Naval Station Newport system.

I've been on this for a few hours today. 380.000 to 382.000
380.275
P25
Toggles between NAC 00Ah, 045h, 16Ch
rssi, 116
Flashing DATA with the freq toggles.
No voice, no noise.

Nothing on any other freq in that range.
North west side of JBCC.

A few more visual tidbits from the Camp Edwards system. An apparent Private Call added in another frequency, 380.3375. Not sure I've ever seen the "Radio Monitor" entry in the event log, but then again I don't often get to run DSD+ on P25 systems out here in the wilderlands...

For anyone not familiar with DSD+ Fast Lane, the "alias server" information shown is not pertinent to this radio system.

I continue to see references to Private Calls, and another frequency was added into the mix, 380.3375, on each occasion. My reception of this system continues to be marginal. I am considering trying to build a 380 MHz vertical dipole to see if that helps, when I find the time to do so.

I was thinking that there might be something for Westfield for the MA ANG helicopters there but they are under a unit from VT or NY so perhaps they would not need comms back the the MA mothership.

I took an hour to do a quick build of a 380 MHz vertical dipole. This cost me $0.00 as I had everything on hand. To be honest, it's not working any better or worse than the best antenna I had this system running on prior. I had a run of coax up there that was still connected to an old antenna. When I took it apart the connector looked nice and clean but who knows. It's about halfway up the tower as that's as far as the cable goes. Yes, I weatherproofed it. ;)

Still nary a talkgroup here, although I see the occasional entries in the Event Log as outlined above and a registration request this morning with a target of 29228 from a source of 512516.

Found a spot on Rt 130 just over the Sandwich line into Mashpee where the landing strip lights are (small pull off area). Was capturing 380.2750 at 99% of signal. Data audio still lower in volume (compared to other system's CC's) , very quick and pulsy. That's my expert data description !!
May be difficult setting up a mobile trip there as they usually keep that area free of vehicles.

We finally have a talkgroup affiliation!

TG28, an affiliation only, no radio traffic. This was at 1710 local time today.

I also see another interesting one up the event log a bit.

"Emerg Group call; TG=20-946 RID=18-1325 Ch=380.225 Pri0" That appears at 0741 this morning.

might I strongly urge those on da Cape and if anyone is within range of Devens, log them on Jul 3/4th as Pops goes Boston occurs, there might be some activity...otherwise next scheduled major event would be next April

I continue to have it running in DSD+FL constantly. If something barks, I'll hear it. Live or later.

Looks like Devens is showing signs of life...
Frequency list remains unchanged from above so far....

Nothing from the Camp Edwards site since I rebooted the PC yesterday. I've been at least shutting down and restarting DSD+FL on an almost daily basis, to be sure that I'm not getting any falses due to the marginal signal. When I do see the private call entries they always go to the same frequencies (as shown in prior screenshots), none of the ones that are listed as secondary control channels. Nothing at all as of yet over the holiday weekend here.
