I have been hearing ARINC 129.90 AM very well for many months. 129.90 covers East Coast Canada to Virginia. I usually hear both sides of the conversation. In addition, New York radio (129.90) provides the HF primary and secondary frequencies as the aircraft depart from the range of New York. If you have HF capability you can hear additional Communications. While mostly mundane communications, the dedicated listener will occasionally copy interesting events that may happen in flight.

+1 on this. NY Center's transmissions are slightly off frequency, or were the last time I looked via SDR. So if using a conventional receiver that allows for different bandwidth settings, a wider setting in this case will yield better results. They've been like that for a long time. Another frequency of interest for overseas handoffs is 125.9250.

After I posted that message, for giggles I punched 129.9 into one of my analog scanners, BCT15X in this case. I'm able to hear NY Radio and some flights without issue, been listening all day when I'm in the room as a matter of fact. Have you looked at it with one of your 8600's? If so I bet you will still see some minor offset in the waterfall between NY's transmissions and those of the flights. It still sounds "off" to me but I haven't done a visual yet.

Not a big deal; just an ongoing observation in the event that anyone is having difficulty receiving them. The beauty of watching it on an SDR confirms how far off it is. It is a distinct bump to the right of center when comparing it to the aircraft transmissions, and to my ear on a conventional scanner it is pretty evident as well. Without looking it up I believe the remote transmit site for NY Radio is on Shoot Flying Hill in Barnstable.
